PUPPETS, cheerleaders and clowns entertained children at a fun day.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary Illingworth Challengers Children's Club invited all past and present members of the out-of-school club to Natty Lane playing fields, Illingworth, Halifax, for the free event.

They enjoyed a bouncy castle, giant slide and bucking bronco, and there were displays of boxing and street dance in the arena.

Prizes were given for the best fancy dress and the bonniest baby.

And old and new Challengers and their families tucked into a barbecue and cream teas.

Hundreds of youngsters aged from five to 11 have passed through the club since it began in September 1998 with around 70 members.

It meets every Thursday evening at Whitehill Primary School, Occupation Lane, Illingworth, with a sister club at Siddal Primary School, Siddal, Halifax, every Wednesday.

Carol Wadley, of the Challengers, said: "Because it is our 10th year we wanted to try to bring together all the children that have been to Challengers over the years who are now grown up or even parents themselves."
