Pop-up shows kick off autumn season
As part of the ‘Other Rooms’ strand, there will be pop-up films and plays at historic buildings and spaces across Halifax. The Arches at Dean Clough will screen ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and Halifax Minster will show the atmospheric classic ‘Nosferatu’. The Tower House Hotel will show ‘The Shining’ and Cunnery Woods at Shibden will host ‘The Blair Witch Project’. Other venues will include Halifax Town Hall, the Gundog pub and Arden Road Social Club.
Sofia Cann, marketing officer, said: “Square Chapel didn’t want the fact that they have no auditorium in September to stop them - so throughout the month they will screen 13 pop-up and immersive films and perform plays in ‘Other Rooms’, spaces and venues across Halifax, exploring the architecture of the town and buildings’.
