IT was sun and smiles at this year's People's Park Festival in Halifax.
Hundreds made the most of the good weather and enjoyed brass bands, funfair rides and circus entertainers.
Ann Glushchenko, chairman of the People's Park Festival Association, said: "It was absolutely fantastic.
"It's the 13th festival and the date was the 13th – but we had nothing but good luck with great weather and an outstanding set of attractions."
While children spent pocket money on toboggan rides and the lucky dip, parents browsed craft stalls and advice tents set up by SureStart and the NHS.
Even the police got in on the fun by opening their van up for youngsters to explore.
Wendy Kaye, secretary of the association, said: "There was something for everyone, of every age and of every culture."
Lynette Allpress, of Mixenden, Halifax, took her three children – Katherine, 13, David, 12, and Frankie, nine.
She said: "It's a gorgeous day and the children couldn't wait to get here.
"They're spending all my money but we're all having fun, so it's worth it."
Live music was provided by Herr Jens's Bavarian Oompah Band and a DJ, while Irish dancers and Warley Road School Dancers entertained the crowds.
