Massed Bands,
Huddersfield Town Hall
BRIGHOUSE & Rastrick Band will be seeking a hat-trick of wins in the Brass in Concert contest at Gateshead next month and must be in with a great chance of doing so on the evidence of this performance.

The all-male band, in traditional purple tuni
cs, hosted the 45-strong all-girl Boobs and Brass, from Kettering, wearing pink jackets in support of the Breast Cancer Campaign to which they gave their fee.

Each band had its own spot and combined at the start and end of the concert.

Players travel for miles at their own expense to play for Boobs and Brass and raise money for the charity.

Under the direction of Jonathan Mott, they delighted a packed town hall with selections such as Breezin' Down Broadway, hymn tune Crimond, Three Jigs and a Reel featuring trombonist Mairi Addy on accordion and Grandfather's Clock with Joanne Bird producing amazing sounds on a recorder.

Conducted by Alan Morrison. B & R injected humour into Mr Sandman, power into Russlan and Ludmilla and Great Gate of Kiev and with their guests provided a rousing climax with Elsa's Procession to the Minster and encore The Floral Dance.
