LEE Barnes, the author and director of Drunk Sex 'n' Camera Roll, oozes good-natured confidence.
And why shouldn't he, since he has just graduated from Calderdale College with a BA Honours in Performing Arts and is about to take his starkly realistic drama to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
He also takes a starring role in the hour-long play – which hits the ground running and never lets up in pace. He gives a superb performance as the unpleasantly egotistical Mike, a serial seducer who craves something different.
Suzy Rochford's is outstanding as his long-term girlfriend, the uncomplicated Jude, quite willing to go along with his partner-swapping schemes.
But his best mate, Jake (Steven Eccles), the sensitive would-be playwright is reluctant to get involved.
Mike, however, will not take no for an answer and, for good measure, also recruits Yvette Hudson-Roberts's feckless Gret-ting to make up the foursome.
Though he holds forth in self-admiration before letting the vodka-fuelled proceedings commence, suffice it to say nothing turns out as Mike intends and the twist at the end is devastating.
The pity is that Jake's sweetheart, 16-year-old Grace, portrayed excellently by Lyn Sutherland, should get so horribly caught in the backlash.
Here is a comedy which is as black as pitch and almost as irreverent as Trainspotting. It should go down a storm in Edinburgh, where it can be seen from August 10 to 25.
