She said: “Having cancer was devastating. It hits you in a big way but I got through it an I look at things differently now. My family has been brilliant, so has the hospital and the support has been great.”
Her cancer is now in remission.
Christine, who works as a support worker for adults with challenging behaviour, took part in her first Race for Life in 2012 - when she was well enough to run and was joined by her daughter Samantha, 20.
She has continued to enter Race for Life ever since and this year she will share her story with the crowd on the day.
“Taking part in Race for Life is my way of hitting cancer where it hurts. I want to help others by supporting Cancer Research UK’s work.”
