Mountain rescue team stretcher injured boy, 12, from Calderdale woods

At 3.12pm yesterday (May 17) CVSRT received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to help with the rescue of an injured 12-year-old boy near the Stepping Stones, Ripponden.
The youngster was treated by YAS Paramedics and CVSRT medical personnel.

Hide AdHe was packaged onto a stretcher and lifted to the waiting ambulance by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS)
Throughout, CVSRT followed all recommended Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) COVID-19 protocols which includes appropriate decontamination of all equipment used on the callout.
The rescue lasted almost three hours and involved 27 CVSRT members.
