Engineers work to restore power to properties affected by Storm Eva
Teams have been working across the upper Calder Valley since Boxing Day, but some properties are still without power.
A spokesperson said: “Most of the properties that are still without power due to the flood waters and damage are in the upper Calder Valley, primarily in the Hebden Bridge area.

Hide Ad“Currently, we have 714 of the remaining 749 in that locality. We are carrying out post flood inspections of our assets and completing necessary repair work as quickly as possible.
“We are also working with the energy suppliers and their meter operators who are carrying out repairs to their assets where they have been damaged.
“Meanwhile our customer support vehicles are in the area providing hot drinks and more information to local residents. This support is bolstered by our partners, the British Red Cross, who are also providing support to affected customers.”
Northern Powergrid is warning local people who spot any damaged cables or equipment not to approach the area as equipment may still be live and pose a risk of electrocution.
