Sajad Akbar,43, who had a previous conviction for ramming into another motorist’s car during a road rage incident in 2014, caused extensive damage to an Audi A3 in June last year following a domestic dispute.
Bradford Crown Court heard today how his behaviour was witnessed by children, who had been playing in Burwood Fold, that afternoon and Judge Jonathan Rose said it was good fortune that none of them were struck by Akbar’s Toyota.

The judge said Akbar had received 'something of a beating' and his vehicle’s windows had been smashed before he reversed at speed into the parked Audi.
Barrister Nick Worsley, for Akbar, said his client suffered from depression and anxiety and he was very shaken up by the incident.
He said Akbar, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, had 'lost his temper' but since the incident he had paid for the damage to the Audi and was deeply sorry for his actions.

“A car is a potentially deadly weapon,” said the judge.
“It's heavy and the faster it’s driven, whether forwards or backwards, the greater the capacity for death and serious injury.
“You had created this terrifying situation where innocent children were placed at risk.
“You are said by your learned counsel to have been ‘not in your right mind’.

Judge Rose also banned Akbar from driving for two-and-a-half years and ordered him to take an extended driving test at the end of the disqualification period.
