Calderdale fire crews tackle blaze in Brontë Country moorlands in Yorkshire

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service were called out at 10.45pm on Monday, May 25 to moorland just off Cragg Bottom Road in Oldfield, Keighley.
Approximately 75 square metres of heather/moorland was on fire.

Hide AdThe specialist Wildfire Unit and Wildfire Support Pump was mobilised from Keighley and a pump from Bingley.
On arrival, officers called for help from crews from Illingworth and Shipley.
A request was further Wildfire Unit and Wildfire Support Crew which came from Todmorden station.
By 11.15pm, two more fire crews were called from Fairweather Green and Cookridge.

Hide AdThe hose laying Unit was also requested and attended from Otley Station.
Crews used Beaters, Aqua Backpacks, Hose Reels, a Wildfire Fogging Unit and Argo Cat.
A specialist Wildfire Officer and Incident Commander also attended the incident.
