CHILDREN across Calderdale are hoping they have helped break a singing world record.
Pupils at nine schools across the district joined an estimated 500,000 children across the UK in an attempt at the biggest ever simultaneous singalong.

Carr Green Junior and Infant, Rastrick; Savile Park Primary, Halifax; Luddenden Foot Junior and Infant; Lightcliffe Primary; Lightcliffe Prep; Barkisland Primary; Woodhouse Primary, Brighouse; Ripponden Junior and Infant; and Walsden Junior School took part in the Big Sing.

They sang along as Des'ree performed You Gotta Be live from the O2 Arena in London.

The children hope to have smashed the 2005 record when more than 292,000 were involved and raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, CLIC Sargent and Youth Music.

Very well done kids!!! Fingers crossed for your record attempt. If you didn't break it, don't worry, we're still very proud of you all.
