A FRAUDSTER stole his twin brother's credit card and spent over £1,000.
Peter Coulter, 45, of Woodbrook Road, Mixenden, Halifax, admitted four counts of theft and making false representations between March 9 and 20. He asked for 14 others to be taken into consideration.
Andy Wills, prosecuting, told Calderdale magistr
ates that on March 23 Coulter's twin brother Paul reported his card stolen. There were 17 transactions he did not know about on his statement.
One of these was £213.28 to a flooring company.
He knew his brother had recently had a new floor fitted and challenged him about it.
Peter Coulter admitted he had taken the card from his twin's jacket pocket. He put it into a cash machine and gues-sed the PIN, which was his date of birth.
He took a total of £1,094.80.
Mr Wills said: "His brother called the police because he did not think he would get any money back from Coulter."
Larry Parks, for Coulter, said: "It is quite sad that Coulter saw fit to take his brother's credit card because they have a very close relationship and do to this day.
"He is very sorry for his actions."
Coulter, who suffers from emphysema, was given an 18-month supervision order, told to pay £350 compensation to his brother and put under curfew for three months from 7pm to 7am Monday to Friday.
