Could somebody from Calderdale Council please explain to me why they do not grit the pavements!
I am a childminder and I slipped about a dozen times today while pushing a buggy, along with walking two young children.

Is it because nobody wants responsibility in case they fall when it's gritted? If you want more people to walk and not use the car, then at least make it safe for us.

snow on pavements is an occasional problem. a much bigger and year round problem is Cars on pavements! Soyland is a particular problem where all the locals park on the pavement and anyone walking with children or pushing a pram have to go onto the main road. I'm sure it's the same in many other locations throughout Calderdale. Nowadays the car rules.

Have you tried driving a hgv on the pavement? Plus with cars parked up it would make it very interesting trying to grit them.
