May I be, I'm sure, one of the many people of Halifax to congratulate C Huckman for standing up for the law ("Traffic rules should apply to everyone," Your say December 1).
It's such a pity that the law did not stand up for him. While we have officers like Sgt Alderson who are more concerned with keeping their job rather than keeping the law we will always be in a civil decline.

There is no fine line. The law is the law and applies to every one. Play the race card enough and it starts to wear thin, even played from the bottom of the pack.

A question for the police: who paid for the policing of the funeral and at whose request?

Mark Holt

I have said it before, the Mr Plods of Calderdale are useless at enforcing the law, unless you are within a certain category/indigenous resident.
