NEXT week sees the latest Q Folk evening at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, with three acclaimed performers taking to the stage.
Currently promoting his long-awaited CD Circumstances, Desi Friel – father of actress Anna Friel – will be joined by Maartin Allcock (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull, Dave Swarbrick) and long-standing associate Stu Pickering for this show at the new Q performance venue in the theatre basement on Wednesday.

Event organiser John Sharp said: "For many years a stalwart of the UK folk circuit, Ulsterman Desi's music is mostly self-penned and takes a wry look at the world through sympathetic eyes. His widely acclaimed songwriting and immaculate delivery will be beautifully showcased in this intimate venue. This show will present a rare opportunity to experience the musicianship of these three great performers sharing one stage."

Maartin Allcock is currently appearing with Ade Edmondson's new band The Bad Shepherds and will appear with Desi as a special "one-off" performance. Tickets are £12 and the evening starts at 8pm. Contact the Victoria Theatre box office, tel: 01422 351158.
