King Cross Park 30 v Dodworth 10
(Division One)

PARK powered away to bank two more valuable points against the bottom club.
Jess Sheriffe and Jack White, the new signings from Calder Valley, had a big say for a home side containing several under 18s players.

Park opened in great style, Conrad Townley and Lee Brooke sending in Lee Gleeson for a try converted by Sheriffe.

Sheriffe then scored a wonderful try to increase the lead to 10-0, fielding a kick on his own line and beating man after man on a run down the touchline.

Dodworth hit back when their big prop took three men over the line with him for a converted score but Logan Smith, John Wade and Brooke set up Gilligan to touch down in the corner.

Dodworth took advantage of weak tackling to make it 14-10 but then Park stepped up a gear and Dodworth were on the back foot for the rest of the game.

White, Paul Bowen and Liam Stead combined to send in Matthew Brown and Sheriffe converted.

Dodworth were now falling out among themselves and giving away silly penalties.

Park took full advantage with Brown touching down for his second try, after good work from Chris Metcalf and Patrick Gilligan.

Sheriffe raced for the corner and was stopped by a high tackle but Gilligan's quick tap penalty enabled Brook to send in Stead for the final try, goaled by Sheriffe.

Siddal B 16 v West Craven Warriors 8
(Division Five)

SIDDAL'S third string completed a great winning day for the club's senior sides by smashing the table topping Warriors' 100 per cent record.

They did it the hard way, coming back from 8-0 down to run out comfortable winners with excellent displays from Ian Murihead, Carl Gregg and Darren Armstrong.

Prop Muirhead launched the fightback and king-sized forward Martin Thompson added a second try, a penalty from fullback Jason Barron giving the Chevinedge side a 10-8 interval advantage.

Playing towards the new clubhouse in the second half, Muirhead popped a pass out of the tackle for stand off Chris Brooke to run 40 yards and score.

Siddal backed up their attacking effort with ferocious defence to resist Warriors' attempts at a comeback and a late Barron penalty sealed victory.
