HALIFAX Town boss Jim Vince has released striker Dorryl Proffitt just four games into the season.
The 22-year-old was a substitute in the opening three games of the campaign and made his first start against Durham City on Monday.
"I gave him an opportunity to play for our club," said Vince.
"Unfortunately he has not achieved the standard I expected.
"Six weeks ago we had no players, steadily the squad has been improved and I will continue to change personnel until I get the standard of football that our supporters demand."

Neil Ross should also be released the way that he preforms it looks like he couldn't be bothered!

Porky - I dont agree.

None of the frontment have impressed, as the team are doing ok in the first 2/3 of the pitch, but the service to the final third hasn't been very clever.

It's a typical comment - a front player who replies on balls being lumped to him to control and shield is lazy when these long balls sail over his head, go in to no mans land.

If you play a player as a target man, you use him as that - a target, and you aim for him (which Ross is used as).

Use him as a player to run on to the ball, you hit it over him (which Ross has not been used as).

Agree with the release of Proffitt - showed glimpses of what he's capable of, but no consistency unfortunately.

Can we tempt Geoffrey Horsfield back ? I believe he's currently on trial at Kettering who aren't a million miles away from us in terms of resources. Can we not get the local McDonalds to sponsor him in cheeseburgers ? He always played better for Fulham after he'd sneaked a quarter-pounder from the hotel room service.
