AN insurance firm had a staff turnover of just 9 per cent last year – half the national call centre average.
Caravan Guard in Halifax said the reason for the successful 2007 figures was its commitment to staff development and investment, as well as its newly-opened £1 million centre.
The caravan and motorhome insurance firm was the first business in West Yorkshire to become an "Investors in People" company and it won Calderdale Coun-cil's Learning Agreement Award.
Caravan Guard said it won the award for supporting young people at work, such as 18-year-old Rebecca Brier, who has worked at Caravan Guard for about seven months.
She is studying for an NVQ Level 2 in customer service with the National Business College in Huddersfield.
She said: "The best thing about working for Caravan Guard is that you feel appreciated.
"Everyone's really friendly and works as a team.
"A job's not just about what you have to do on a day to day basis, it's about the people you work with and where you work."
