OLD Brods under 10s travelled east to take on Hull Ionians and Doncaster Knights.
Brods Broncos were first up against Ionians and newcomer Christian Lee scored his first try for the club after a strong run up the middle of the pitch.

Back came Hull, but good defensive work from Ethan Smith and Henry Asquith kept them at bay before a good run from Harry Smith enabled Chris Galvin to score the first of his three tries. Josh Stringer completed a 25-0 victory after a great take at a lineout.

Brods Bears then took to the field against their Hull counterparts and played some of their best rugby of the season in a 45-0 victory.

The Brods forwards of Jack Crowther, Tom Robertshaw and Jack Headlong were in fine form, rucking and recycling the ball superbly for their livewire backs to run in seven tries through Dakota Whylie (3), Bailey Ramsden, Alex Rackstraw (2) and Dan Smith.

Hull never gave up but the Brods forward were not to be outdone, with impressive hooker Robertshaw and Headlong, relishing his new position at prop, completing the scoring.

Both teams were soon back in action, this time against Doncaster, with Brods registering a 25-15 victory.

Nick Wood opened the scoring with a try from distance. However, Doncaster did not lie down, and stormed back with two tries to earn a 10-5 interval lead.

Brods started the second half in a much more determined mood which resulted in tries for Joe Dunn, Josh Stringer and the hard working Galvin.

Meanwhile, the Bears recorded a 55-0 victory with Brods' rucking and tackling again being the key.

Rackstraw, Robertshaw, Asquith and Crowther were outstanding with half backs Ramsden and Tighe Maxwell-Whiteley constantly asking questions of the opposition.

Doncaster were competing well, however, and a back move which looked like leading to a certain score was denied by a last minute tackle from Dan Smith.

Tries came thick and fast for Brods through Rackstraw, Whylie (2), Ramsden (2), Crowther (2), Maxwell-Whiteley (2) and Dan Smith (2).
