SIDDAL Emerging Eights won both their games at the latest festival held at Newsome.
They started with a 52-32 success over Brighouse and followed that up with a 40-28 victory over West Bowling.

Siddal outplayed Brighouse with some superb rugby. They took an early lead with tries from Liam Buffet (4), Oliver Waite (2) and Liam Whi
tton (2) and an excellent score out wide by Jacob Gannon, supported by his brother Morgan. Connor Taylor then steamed on to a play of the ball for William Scrimshaw to add another.

Brighouse rallied and found gaps in the Siddal defence to put them back in the game before the break.

However, the second half saw Ewan Lewis, Max Haigh and Kerion Chiles holding defence and it wasn't long before wing man Oliver Lewis sparked a counter before feeding Harry Georgiou for a try.

Brighouse crossed again but Siddal kept battling on and Lewis Hirst crossed to complete the scoring.

Siddal built on the confidence gained from their first game as they took on West Bowling.

And they served up another first class rugby performance against a side of equal skill.

Harry Georgiou started the scoreboard ticking over with the first try of his hat-trick, after which Oliver Waite and William Scrimshaw nipped over the line.

A fine run from Jacob Gannon added to Siddal's tally before West Bowling responded with scores of their own.

Siddal needed to rely on the defensive and tackling techniques of Ewan Lewis, Oliver Lewis and Max Haigh to keep the opposition out.

The second half was just as entertaining as the first and saw Siddal add to their try-tally courtesy of Lewis Hirst, Liam Whitton (2), and Oliver Waite to secure another fine win.
