Latest number of Calderdale coronavirus cases as national lockdown looms

Public Health England figures show that 4,596 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Friday (October 30) in Calderdale, up from 4,446 the same time on Thursday.
The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.

Hide AdThe rate of infection in Calderdale now stands at 2,174 cases per 100,000 people, far higher than the England average of 1,492.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 24,405 over the period, to 989,745.
Calderdale's cases were among the 125,722 recorded across Yorkshire and The Humber, a figure which rose by 3,425 over the period.
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
The figures come as the recent announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson that the country will enter a national lockdown, expected to last until December 2, on Thursday (November 5).
