Godfrey's game for raising cash
A new, full-length version of the much-loved production ‘Godfrey’s Last Stand’ by Alan Stockdill (who also directs the piece) premieres at The Workshop, for a five-night run from Nov 5-12 before commencing a short tour of the north of England.
“Dreams can’t come true unless you’ve got the people who matter to you in them with you,” says Yorkshire Dales local league cricket umpire Godfrey Shackleton. Since he was a lad all Godfrey ever wanted to do was to officiate a test match between England and Australia. When he wins over £3m on the lottery he wangles a way to do just that.
